2019 Purchase List
Thinking about 2019 even though 2018 has just started.
At the start of January 2018 I made a resolution - to not buy anything considered a luxury in 2018. That means no Tom Bihn bags, no camera gear, no electronics, and no phones.
Actually the phone situation is this - I will be using the same phone for 5 years. That means the next time I upgrade my cell phone will be in 2023. I'm using the iPhone X and I hope this phone will last until then. I'll probably make a video about the phone at the start of every year.
Anyways, 2019 will be probably a wallet crushing year. I sure hope not because by doing this resolution I am hoping to ween off this buying habit of mine.
But, regardless, in 2019 I will probably be buying things.
Here are some of the things that I want:
1. CANON 1DX MARK II
Reason: Because it's a full frame camera that can literally do it all. 60 frames in 4K, great photos, very good ISO performance. It's the camera of dreams.

2. Rode VideoMic Pro Plus On-Camera Shotgun Microphone
Reason: This shotgun microphone turns on when the camera is on, turns off when the camera turns off. The battery also recharges, which means no more buying batteries. The shotgun mic of the future is here.
Price: $299
3. DJI Mavic Air
Reason: Drone are all the rage these days and this one seems to check all the marks: price, video capabilities, and size. This drone should be a fun and the results of the video should quite good as well.
Price: $799
4. Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM Lens
Reason: Can't have a camera without a lens, can we? This one should be fine for now. It's a wide angle lens so it's good for vlogging. And it's actually decently priced. Why decent? Because the best price is "free".
Price: $249
This list will be updated on a regular basis. It's like a wish list on Amazon.com except no one is going to get me these things.
